Workshop Aims
Boost participants’ self-confidence

Workshop Objectives
Each participant designs and makes real silver jewellery which is finished by the end of the workshop
Participants learn appropriate use of tools and equipment
Participants learn to plan and design a simple project
Participants understand the properties of Silver Clay in its various forms and states
Participants learn the qualities of the Pure Silver which results from Firing Silver Clay compared to Sterling Silver, and the reasons for Hallmarking

A Silver Clay Workshop is an excellent way to make one-off pieces of Pure Silver jewellery. Currently, our Silver Clay Workshops include:
Charm or Pendant Workshop (Beginner)
Creating Leaves in Silver Clay (Beginner)
Silver Clay Beads (Beginner)
Make a Ring in Silver Clay (Intermediate)
Simple Stone-set Pendant in Silver Clay (Intermediate)
and we’re adding new ones to the list all the time!
Workshops marked ‘Beginner’ can be undertaken without previous experience, but if you’re interested in workshops marked ‘Intermediate’ or ‘Advanced’ you’ll get more out of the projects if you have some experience in basic techniques (see Courses for more details).
There is no age limit on our workshops, but we would recommend that the Charm or Pendant Workshop would be the most suitable for children aged 10-13 years (Years 6-8).
Tailored Workshops
We also tailor workshop content to fit more specific requirements of a group. For example, a Charm School Workshop is a great enhancement to the curriculum for Schools. We run workshops to commemorate special events, such as ‘Make-A-Memento’ leaving events, or as part of School Enrichment and Gifted & Talented programmes.
As these workshops are tailored, we can adapt the length and subject of projects as required, and the number of participants.
