Tailored Tuition & Workshops

Tailored Tuition for individuals, or Workshops for groups, are planned around your schedule, and content is tailored to your requirements - whether you’re a beginner wanting to learn from scratch, or you have some experience and want to learn new techniques and build on your experience.

Charm School Crafts Tailored Tuition or Workshops can be from two to six hours long, depending on what you’d like covered, and can be based at Charm School Crafts, or at your home, school, college, crafts group or at a venue of your choice. Techniques, such as those listed below, are presented in detailed demonstrations and each person gets individual attention, and expert guidance from the Charm School Crafts Tutor.

Prior to booking, we discuss with you what you want to get from the course, prepare course notes for you, and give an estimated cost of materials. Silver Clay can be bought at special discounted price from the Tutor.

Tailored tuition is ideal for anyone who wants to focus on Silver Clay techniques and skills development. Each participant takes away finished pieces of jewellery at the end of the tuition or workshop. It's advisable for beginners to start with basic techniques, but anyone already familiar with these can choose from a wide variety of intermediate or advanced techniques, including those listed below.

* Using Jump rings & Findings

Advanced techniques

for example:

* Making Hollow Forms in Silver Clay using combustible cores

* Setting natural stones in Silver Clay

* Enamelling on Silver Clay

* Combining Silver Clay with other materials such as glass and ceramic

Cost: cost £35 per hour (for 1-4 people, minimum 2 hours) includes:

* Individual tuition

* Use of Tools & Equipment

* Torch/hob/burner/kiln firing, as appropriate

* Detailed demonstrations

* Course notes

* Charm School Tutor

Participants can purchase materials at a discount on the day, and an estimate of costs for the materials which would be required is given prior to the course.

TAILORED WORKSHOPS

We can tailor workshop content to fit more specific requirements of a group. For example, a Charm School Crafts Workshop is a great enhancement to the curriculum for Schools. We run workshops to commemorate special events, such as ‘Make-A-Memento’ leaving events, or as part of School Enrichment and Gifted & Talented programmes.

As these workshops are tailored, we can adapt the length and subject of projects as required, and the number of participants. We’d be delighted to discuss holding a tailored Charm School Crafts Workshop at your School or group.
